Fast & Dirty Apple Tarts

Equipment

  • metal muffin tin

Ingredients
  

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • Baking spray
  • 1 can apple pie filling
  • 1 egg
  • Turbinado sugar **Or any sugar

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Use a rolling pin to roll out puff pastry until just slightly larger than muffin tin.
  • Spray each cup with cooking spray.
    Place second muffin tin on top and press down, forming indentations. Remove tin. **If you don't have a tin just use a small tumbler
  • Place a spoonful of pie filling into each cup, about ⅓ cup.
  • Use a pizza cutter on top of the tin to cut into squares.
    Bring each corner of the dough into the center and twist & pinch together to seal.
  • Whisk the egg in a small bowl with 2 tsp water. Brush each tart and sprinkle with the sugar.
  • Bake for 15-17 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool on a rack for 15 minutes. Use a table knife around the edges and lift out.
