Tator Tot Casserole

Ingredients
  

  • 1 30-32 ounce bag tator tots or tator rounds, thawed **for a quick thaw, place on baking sheet and cook in preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  • 1 pound ground turkey or beef
  • 2 T butter or margarine
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, choppped
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can milk **using soup can

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Saute ground turkey or beef. Drain off any grease. Put meat into bowl and set aside.
  • In the same pan, melt butter and saute onions and green pepper. Stir and cook until soft.
  • Add meat back into the pan with onions and green pepper. Stir in soup and milk. Turn up heat and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  • Arrange half of the tator tots on bottom of 2½ quart casserole dish.
  • Cover with meat and vegetable mixture. Top with remaining tator tots.
  • Bake for 50-55 minutes.
