Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. sirloin steak sliced thin like for carne asada
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced about 2 teaspoons
  • 1 Tbsp fresh ginger, grated or 1 tsp dry
  • ¼ cup sweet onion, minced

Instructions

  • Separate the meat slices and place in a Ziploc bag or large bowl. I buy carne asada meat for this. If it's not available, you can ask the butcher or meat guy at the grocery store to slice up some sirloin for you.
  • Combine all the marinade ingredients. Pour the marinade over the meat. Seal the bag and refrigerate or freeze for later. Or cover the bowl and refrigerate.
  • BROIL - Spread out in a single layer on a large cookie sheet and broil. Watch closely and broil for 4-5 minutes on each side.
  • GRILL - Use a grill mat! The meat is too fragile to put straight onto the grill. Grill for 4-5 minutes on each side. The thin slices cook fast.
