Molasses Cookies

A soft and chewy mollasses-gingerbread cookie that will fill your house with the best smells ever! Every bite tastes like autumn and the holidays!

Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup Crisco brand shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup dark molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • In large mixing bowl (or mixer), cream together shortening and sugar until fluffy.
  • Whip in molasses and egg until creamy.
  • In medium bowl, mix together all dry ingredients.
  • Add dry and wet ingredients together, mix well.
  • Roll cookie dough into 1 inch balls and roll in sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, parchment paper or silicone liner.
  • Bake 8-10 minutes. Cool on rack.
