This VINTAGE recipe hies back to the 1950s when canned soups were big and Neiman Marcus was putting out “Million Dollar” recipes like their famous dip.

I think this is best served over rice or on toasted bread as an open-faced sandwich.

Create the basic mixture with the soup, cottage cheese, sour cream & seasonings.

Throw in the chicken and mix it in.

Spread in 9×13 baking dish and top with parmesan cheese.

Crush up the Ritz crackers and mix in the butter.

Bake and serve up!

This is great served on rice or toast.

Million Dollar Casserole

Ingredients
  

  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • ½ cup cottage cheese
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 4 -ounces cream cheese @room temperature
  • tsp creole or Cajun seasoning
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 4½-5 cups rotisserie chicken, shredded
  • 1 Tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 sleeve Ritz crackers *about 33 crackers
  • 4 Tbsp butter, melted
  • cups mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 1 bunch green onions, sliced

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Mix together the cream of chicken soup, cottage cheese, sour cream, cream cheese and seasonings. *There may be small lumps of cream cheese which is fine.
  • Stir in the chicken, fresh parsley and half of the green onions.
  • Spread into casserole dish.
    Top with mozzarella cheese.
  • Smash the crackers in a large zip lock bag using a rolling pin. Pour into a bowl and stir in the melted butter.
  • Bake for 25 to 35 minutes until topping is golden and crunchy.
  • Sprinkle with remaining green onions.
